Work

Place strategy, proven in the field.

Townward helps a community find what makes it distinctive and build the platform that carries it to the world. We work from the first conversation about who a town is through to a live destination site it uses every day. The Murray County engagement below shows the full method at work.

The foundation

Townward is led by Javier Velazquez—entrepreneur, Southern writer, author of the Field Guide to the Cohutta Mountains and builder of the CohuttaWildernessTrails.com site. He has championed this localism and his region long before there was a business in it, and that depth is the ground every engagement stands on.

What an engagement brings

Strategy, and the platform to carry it.

A Townward engagement can include brand discovery and positioning, a revitalization action plan, a narrative visitor's guide, a destination website that Townward builds and maintains, time-based itineraries, and workshops for local businesses. Strategy and execution under one roof, supported by a network of designers, writers, and collaborators.
