Murray County, Georgia
A full place-strategy engagement, from positioning to a live destination site.
View the case study →Townward helps a community find what makes it distinctive and build the platform that carries it to the world. We work from the first conversation about who a town is through to a live destination site it uses every day. The Murray County engagement below shows the full method at work.
Townward is led by Javier Velazquez, an entrepreneur and Southern writer who put the Cohutta Mountains into a field guide before anyone was paying for the view. He believes the overlooked interior of this country holds more than it has been given credit for, and that the surest way for a place to become valuable is to become more fully what it already is. That conviction came first. The company grew up around it.
A Townward engagement can include brand discovery and positioning, a revitalization action plan, a narrative visitor's guide, a destination website that Townward builds and maintains, time-based itineraries, and workshops for local businesses. Strategy and execution under one roof, supported by a network of designers, writers, and collaborators.
